Puzzle Hanging Craftiness

Have you ever put a puzzle together, glued it with puzzle glue and then mounted it to a board, only to have it continually fall of the wall because it's just too darn heavy for those 3M mounting strips?

Well I have, and unfortunately using nails in my walls is an impossibility, they are old adobe covered in old plaster which just chunks off pieces of wall when I try to put a nail into it.  So I use the 3M mounting strips, the only problem is that eventually they fall off the wall because it's just to heavy.  Well I had a light bulb moment the other day!

You will need:
A Puzzle
2 pieces of posterboard
contact paper - doesn't have to be expensive or pretty
puzzle glue or decoupage or your elmers and water mixture

First layout one piece of posterboard and put your puzzle together on it.

When your puzzle is complete then place the second posterboard on top and quikly flip it over so that the underside is now your top.

Remove the posterboard from the top and now cut out your contact paper to fit the size of your puzzle.  Apply the contact paper to the back of your puzzle.

When completed you will notice that your puzzle is flexible (stop here if you have a fancy schmancy curved wall you want to hang it on)

otherwise flip the puzzle right side up and begin gluing it.

Once glue is dry you will note that your puzzle is now stiff and ready to hang using the 3M mounting strips!  Without all that extra weight from mounting the puzzle to a board or frame.

The Spring in my World

I know, I know... it's been...yet again... a very long time since my last post and the people who actually follow my posts are thinking to themselves, typical Mandi!  I'll give a quick update of the most important aspects of Jan/Feb/Mar.

A very big one for myself is that my finger tip healed! Yay! It never died and fell off, apparently my finger wanted to stay attached to the rest of it as much as my mind wanted it to.  Aside from a little bit of nerve damage it's completely healed.

I HAVE been working out, though only sporadically and I am severely trying to make myself get back into the habit of doing something to keep my body in shape.  I'm at the age were I need to start buckling down and stop depending on my aging metabolism to keep me looking the same as I always have.

I have NOT painted at all, I DO have all the supplies to.

3 types of corn and carrots
I HAVE been working diligently in my garden and am very happy with its slow progress.  I installed, yes I said I, as in ME, without any help from the MAN, installed an irrigation system to my flowers and veggies. I'm already in love with it!!

Zucs, beets, yellow squash, patty-pan, radish, lettuce

Perrenial/Annual Flower Bed
Vertical Strawberry - down to 3 out of 12

I have NOT read 1 book a month. I did read 8 books/novellas in January, and to my way of thinking that keeps me in good standing until August.

I have NOT done any of my sewing projects.  I did just start a project for a friend, turning her king sheet set into a queen "short" set, yesterday.  I am hoping to get it finished by the end of this week hopefully no later than next week.

I HAVE completed several crafts/recipes from pinterest. - visit my recipes blog to read about these -

The little man is in T-Ball and is very happy, he's having lots of fun!!
The sweet pea is enjoying horseback riding lessons, and of course is in heaven.

Sweet Pea turned 9yrs old in February and had a Monster High Birthday Party/Sleepover, she had lots of fun with her friends! I got most of the party decoration ideas from various pinterest sites - the 2 liter bottle labels were from ebay but I could have ordered them from Party City or Paper Warehouse for less.  Used Mason jars and poked holes in the lids for the straws for drinks, wrapped the chair sides with contrasting tulle, made tissue paper pompoms in various sizes and with a monster high worthy mixture of designs and colors, and used cut up plastic party tablecloths with 3M doublesided poster tape for the ceiling treatment.  The cake ofcourse was an www.everythingcakecg.com creation using monster highs "Frankie's Bed, and Build a Monster dolls sets as cake toppers.

The MAN and I just purchased a 1964 Rambler American 440 convertible as a couples project that once in order will be the "Around Town" car since it's supposed to get 28mpg.
